Love What You Do, Do What You Love

Destiny is a matter of choice, not chance. Choose to make things happen versus watch and wonder what happened. (Unknown)

When the pandemic hit I made my living as a conference host, moderator, interviewer and speaker. Within days of the lockdown I had fifteen gigs cancelled and I thought this might be the end of my days on stage.

Within weeks I was proven wrong as the stage turned into a screen. What I quickly learned was that my role as a host/journalist and interviewer was elevated as the audience was no longer captive in a room.

I drew upon my skills as a radio host and commentator, much of it learned through working with Mike Bendixen, a brilliant content creator and coach to find innovative ways to create connective tissue, encourage participation, interview guests and tease upcoming segments to keep audiences engaged.

One of the organizations I performed this role was with Peerscale a fabulous organization for scaling tech-based companies, and Chris Rasmussen their leader, combined with an innovative platform - EventMobi and Lori D'Agostino from Momento Events to stage a full virtual event.

Last Fall, coming off a very successful virtual event, the team came together again, to stage a hybrid event. I was back on stage! The video of the event that I have attached is a great expression of the five-star rating we earned, and our ability to combine the best of both worlds - face-to-face interaction and the ability to beam in talent from around the world.

If you are planning a conference this Video is worth a watch.

And this summer we will continue to build on everything we have learned to once again bring people together face to face and virtually to create another hybrid event that inspires, motivates, educates and celebrates.
