Hands Off Roe, a Wake Up Call for Canadians

I am not a constitutional lawyer, but from my perch, I feel sorry for everyone who lives in the United States. You are deeply divided and there is no civility to your Republican versus Democratic War. And now, the frightening implications of the Supreme Court overturning Roe vs Wade and potentially every other right that should be conserved but threatened by a conservative tilting Supreme Court. Abortion, gay marriages, contraception, and race.

If any of this happens, and individual states can line up for and against, well all the king's horses and all the king's men won't put Uncle Sam back together again.

Your situation might be the wake-up call that Canada needs to change its path from one of dividing to elect, to uniting to create. This is an opportunity to show we are different. Imagine if every political leader and their opposition, from the smallest town to Ottawa shifted from being opportunistic, to signing a declaration that this invasion of rights and choices will never happen in Canada.

If we did it would not only lift our spirits but lift our economy. Our future depends on our ability to attract and retain the best talent and letting the world know who we are, and what we value will be immensely valued by those who are seeking a new home to build their future.

This is our time to shine. This is the time to truly say We are the North.
